GETTING STARTED
Step 1 - Unwrap your new snake plant and place roots directly into well-draining soil, regular house plant soil will work just fine!
Step 2 - Find a well-draining pot and some house plant soil. Plant the roots into the soil, ensuring its not too deep (raising the base a 1/2 inch). Allow to drain and follow care guide below.

LIGHT
Low to medium sunlight. THey can handle bright light but make the move into direct sunlight a gradual one to avoid scorching its leaves. Scorch marks look like gray or brown patches.
SOIL
Cactus potting mix works best because it is fast-draining. This succulent will not tolerate soggy potting medium. You can also mix 1:1 ratio of cactus and regular house plant soil.
WATER
Water thoroughly, then allow the potting mix to dry out before watering again. Don't water the center of the rosette because the leaves will easily rot. Water the soil, taking care not to get water on the leaves, which will cause them to rot. If the leaves turn yellow, or get soft and mushy at their base, the plant is overwatered.
TEMPERATURES
Average to warm room temperatures 65-75°F/18-24°C. It will tolerate fluctuating temperatures, but not below 55°F/13°C.
PLANT FOOD
Sanseveria doesn't require much, if any, feeding. At most, use a water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength, applied bimonthly. More aggressive feeding can cause the plant's leaves to lose their variegation.
ADDITIONAL CARE
Poisonous but non-lethal sap causes skin irritation and burning of the mouth if ingested. Best practice is always to keep houseplants out of reach of small children and pets.
